D-A-D is a true institution in Danish music and ever since their international hit ‘Sleeping My Day Away’ from 1989, they have resided in the absolute top league of Danish rock. This year is their 39th in the game, and they are just as wild, great and authentic as always! Throughout the years, this band has defined itself through a completely unique musical profile, sheer performing joy and lots of humor, which is more evident on the stage today than ever before. The tank is full of raw rock power when these four cheeky entertainers start up the engine and push the pedal to the metal! Their music spans across everything from intense fast rockers to gripping ballads – all of it straight from the heart. D-A-D plays rip-roaring action rock with elements of blues, cowpunk and country thrown into the mix, and the timeless rock’n’roll from the band’s impressive back catalogue is an important part of Denmark’s music history that speaks to both younger and older rock fans today. Throughout almost four decades, D-A-D has always had the courage to keep reinventing themselves and their music without leaning back and resting on the laurels. The band has toured throughout Europe and visited Australia last year, and they will play their first 2023 show in the US. When they are not out conquering new continents, they are currently working on a new album back in Copenhagen, Denmark. ”D-A-D has moved into its fourth youth: We could easily rely on all of our old songs and just deliver them with our current excitement, but we are closing in on a 40-year anniversary and we need to commit to that! We need to keep renewing ourselves by killing D-A-D with every single release and seeing what survives. Everything must be burned down so we can see what rises from the ashes, and then we create something entirely new from it. Right now, we are writing songs and rehearsing for a new album, and playing music together feels better than ever. It is crucial to us that we keep moving out of our comfort zone. We need to have the courage to keep pushing ourselves to the limits, as rock music is first and foremost a question about staying dangerous. We get that particular life-or-death experience when we are on stage – and we see it in the eyes of the audience during the concerts,” says the band’s front man Jesper Binzer. Jesper Binzer’s snarling vocals, Jacob Binzer’s crisp guitar, Stig Pedersen’s groovy bass and Laust Sonne’s jazzy drums possess the same devil-may-care attitude as always. D-A-D is a band with soul that knows exactly who it is. And they are not least true masters in the art of creating that very special magic between musicians and their audience, which results in truly unforgettable live experiences.
